Yeah I know

So I should of had pictures of the cage up by now, well blame it on being lazy or possibly the fact that work has been going torwars the car instead of the blog. Well to make up for it here is some eye candy to keep you happy till i upload the cage pics.

Promised Content

So I promised a post. I am a little late on it and views show people have been checking in to see whats going up. Due to an accident on I75 today my plans to shoot parts got ruined but there is always tomorrow. So tonight I am going to share some cars.

So we start off with my car a few years back. I know most of you are like whats up with the camo. Well the paint was shot and for some reason a late night hang out in the garage birthed this paint job. I know its not popular or cool but I just wanted to do something different. The car just had suspension on it and at this point might have had the Z6 swap in it. At that point it was also daily driven. I really enjoyed the car when it was at that point. Obviously it wasn’t where I wanted it to be but it was fun none the less.

Everyone has seen this car at one time or another. However I feel that alot of people looked to this car as an icon of its time. Being that it is function over form it to me is still in style. I always liked this car and enjoy seeing pictures of it. I think it was featured in one magazine or another, if anyone could tell me which I would love to read the article.

Here is a very well known group of cars. They were all part of the Hasback crew at one point. The cars were always clean and well built. They were also considered top cars in the hobby at one time or another. I always thought Hasback’s car deserved a feature, maybe it got one but I dont know.

Its nice to see a clean EG with function as its focus. Some might disagree but I also think sticking with the single cam is cool. One day I want to build a high compression single cam with a Bisimoto header. Im also looking to run one on the track car next year. Building on a budget sometimes sucks.

Gotta admit it is nice seeing a woman owned and built car. There are just not enough woman like my wife or Meg over at CARSXGIRL that are willing to get dirty and work on a car and enjoy driving them hard. Im sure however like anyone she had help with the build, and that goes for everyone. You all have to admit at one time or another someone helped with your build.

N-S-X three letters that changed Honda and the hobby forever. Any Honda enthusiast dreams of the day when they can own or drive one.

Ryan Der’s engine bay. I know I posted it before but its hands down one of the nicest out there. The car’s exterior is just as nice, and best of all it gets used at the track.

Chad’s car, better known to the internet world as What. He is in Japan so lets hope everything is good for him. You also might know him as metrichotrods, make sure to check out his site and youtube videos.

Flat out cool, factory itb’s. though not as fast as it can be made to be. It is RR meaning rear engine rear wheels drive. I know I would take one, who else?

One word: Insane.

You have seen this car in Honda Tuning. It was built by the owner of  West End.  The shop is ran by one man and from word spread around the guy is amazing at what he does.

Being a fan of the EF chasis I love this car. All business.

I leave you with this absolutely amazing EK hatch. Saw the car in the civic thread on www.nwp4life.com and knew right away I had to share it.

Thats all for tonight. I hope to have time to shoot some parts tomorrow for an update on the track car.

Flying Integra, Sport Cars ITR and others

I saw this picture of an ITR flipping and had to post it.

That was the old look and the new look is………

Car was featured in Honda Tuning Magazine.

Then we have a civic that was also featured in HT.

Would also like to say thanks to everyone from www.nwp4life.com that checked out the site and helped us record our third highest hits per day ever.

New pics

So after cruising the interwebs the past few days i have found some really top end cars for viewing pleasure. Incluiding an NSX that ran sub one minute lap times at Tskuba on street tires and is ITB’d and makes less than 400hp which is pretty impressive. My only complaint is the bolt in cage but safety equipment is alot more relaxed in Japan, you can view a full feature at www.speedhunters.com.

On to the pics.

This next pic is from when this car was being put together, I got to see it at the fall Import Alliance 2010 and the build quality is top nothch, and its always nice seeing quality Top1 USA aero products and an H22 in the bay.

Next is pics of the Sportcar Motion EG time attack car, thing is crazy and I hope to see it at Eibach.

That S2K is by far my favorite S2k I have ever seen.

Up next is what I think is the craziest and cleanest engine bay ever done, it belongs to Big Mike who if I am correct won first place Honda at Wekfest III. You will probably never see one of my engine bays look like this but I do respect all of the time and effort that went in to it, also the fact that Rywire was part of the wiring and build is even more bonus points in my book, Rywire was doing harnesses long before ChaseBays and Ryan is one super cool dude that you can drink a beer and talk even if you never meet him.

New pics and a few updates.

Well now where do I start? Those of you who know Joe might be aware that he recently had the surgery to correct some damage done over the years to his ankle/foot, at the end of 2011 he will have the same done to the other foot. We are hoping for a safe and speedy recovery at this time. Joe is commited to making Import Alliance this year and hopefully will be driving the track car at Mid Ohio this year for the annual Honda Day. Andy is currently working on and ordering parts for his hatch(vsm hatch on orange wheels) and unfortunately his very exspenive hush hush bumper has gone missing thanks to UPS. This makes many times that him and I have had parts gone missing, there are shady cats who work at UPS who will walk out with parts when they know they can make good money or are too broke to afford them, to those people here is a tip, quit stealing parts if you are too broke to afford them, sell your cars and take up knitting, its alot cheaper. Im still waiting on Emilio to send me pics of his car, hopefully I will get them soon. Also those who know me know my strugle with RSD,  in recent weeks the pain has started to get worse and even worse is my doctors office will no longer take my insurance so the search for a third Pain Management doctor had begun. Also make sure to get over to CarsXGirl as Meg will be making her triumphet return to the blog world. If you didn’t know or were in a hole Wek Fest was on Sunday, there is plenty of coverage and you wont see it here unless i do a link to The Chronicles because 90% of the coverage is fish eye style shots that give me a headache and just make the car not seem correct in my opinion(and yes i shoot so I can make an opinion on this). There were ALOT of nice cars there. I did notice a couple of coil over plug conversions and a step towards performance and 90% of the cars weren’t stanced this year(THANK GOD!). However I did see one vehicle with a diamond plate splitter and piercings in the front bumper, interesting to say the least. I was again dissapointed when I saw Hondas greatest drop top with stretched tires stanced out with some very nice performance parts under the hood. I for one can understand wanting to look good for a show.  However this obsession with buying track orriented parts and having a Hella Flush car is something that track guys see as a waste and dream of affording and using those parts for what they were designed for. I for one am for people doing whatever they want with their car just can not understand this trend. I may not understand it, but for the readers if someone out there can submit a very well put together post explaining this I will put it on the blog and offer you a article contributor spot on the blog(you will not get paid, the guys that run the blog do it for the love of the hobby and thats how it should be).  I remember when stanced cars were the VIP ones because they were slow, heavy and were built for bigger wheels from the factory, and remember when other cars started doing it how bad the vip guys hated it, especially of FWD Hondas that are known best for their accomplishments in road racing in Japan and all over the world. Well thats it for updates and opinions, on to the pictures……

We will bringing you pics of parts for the track car shortly, as always stay tuned………

Brian’s/Team Function Motorsports Track EK

Taking a que from Speed Hunters we have decided to do a feature on the EK here exclusively on the Team Function blog. For those that don’t know the backround on the car well here it is. Two years ago Brian purchased his hatch as transportation and a wanting to build a street car. Well over the course of the first six months those focuses changed into wanting a vehicle that would be his return to auto racing. Having built multiple high performance vehicles earlier in his life he felt that burning to return to his roots. With the support of the Team and his wife Tina, Brian set forth to turn his dream into a reality. The car went through a couple of different transitions to finally arrive at what it is today. Here is the current mod list on the car.

As you can see the modifications on this car are pretty exstensive. However whats comming next is going to push this car over the top.

TwoLitre and K.Saun photography get all credit for photos, pictures were taken at the Summer Import Alliance event in 2010. Also of note the majority of the decals were only on the car for the shoot.

This years plan for the car include a exterior/interior color change, finsihing the wire tuck and cage and addressing some suspension and braking needs. Also Brian was recently just sponsored by Top1 USA and will be running their full assortment of quality and track orriented aero parts. There’s no denying that Brian is one that is not affraid of going against the grain and fullfills the name Trend Killer. Just know that Brian and Team Function Motorsports with the help of Top1 USA will take this car to new heights and continue to push the limits of whats considered an “acceptable” build at this time.

Its obvious that this Trend Killer isn’t going to stop pushing the limits.

Car Progress

As you may know the Trend Killer graffiti hatch is being transformed this winter to a dedicated track car, hopefully to debut at Import Alliance Atlanta. We’ve made some good progress so far; car is completely gutted, cage has had some braces added and is now fully welded, rear disc conversion complete, and the Z6 has been dumped in favor of a H22.

The bay is ready to go

C-West front with APR splitter and R Crew canards

J’s replica hood

All HVAC components are completely gone, USDM stop sign block off plate installed

H22 waiting on mounts and harness

Oh yea, we went there, bringing back the Feel’s wing

If you were a fan of the grffiti paint job, bad news, it’s been sanded down and is getting a fresh look.

If you hated the graffiti paint job, bad news, it’s getting completely retagged when done.
